Husqvarna Viking Designer Diamond Update This update is available to all registered HUSQVARNA VIKING® DESIGNER DIAMOND™ sewing and embroidery machine owners. You need the Embroidery Machine Communication CD, (4D Organizer, 4D QuickFont) which came with your HUSQVARNA VIKING® DESIGNER DIAMOND™ installed on a personal computer, running Windows XP, Vista. You need to have your DESIGNER DIAMOND™ registered. Decorative Tapering Stitches – The brand new Z menu includes decorative stitches that can be tapered. The stitch will begin and end with a taper type and angle of your choice. New stitches – Create fabulous embellishments with new stitches on your DESIGNER DIAMOND™. 2D/3D View – Choose if you want to see the designs in 2D for a clearer view of the color blocks and faster loading or 3D with a more realistic view of the design with added shadow and depth. Zoom to box – Touch and drag a box with the stylus and the screen will show that specific area. Select more than one color block – To change more than one color block at a time, touch the Add/Remove Selection icon and then touch the color blocks you want to change. On screen display of selected and non-selected color blocks – Color blocks that are not selected are shown as colored dots for easier view on what areas in the design will be changed. Zoom to cursor – Use the zoom function in Design Positioning and the cursor will always be in the center. Baste in hoop – Choose if you want to baste around the design, around the hoop or both. Make sure the DESIGNER DIAMOND™ icon at the bottom right of your computer screen is active (active   , not active   ). If you don't find the DESIGNER DIAMOND™ tray icon: Open 4D Configure. Click on the Send 1 tab and click on the "Embroidery machine Communication" button for DESIGNER DIAMOND™. If you only have an inactive DESIGNER DIAMOND™ tray icon: Make sure your DESIGNER DIAMOND™ is turned on and connected to your computer. Please Note: You must use the same USB port as when you activated the DESIGNER DIAMOND™ communication at installation. Connect your computer to the Internet Open the program 4D Configure (Go to Start/All Programs/4D Embroidery System/4D Configure). Click on “Smart Update”. You may be asked if your system has a dongle. Answer No. The program starts searching for the latest update version for your DESIGNER DIAMOND™ and a list with suggested downloads is presented. Click on "Download" and save the download to your computer. Note the location saved in. Please be aware that if you select “Restore to default factory embroidery disk” in “Advanced Options” of the update program all user data (designs and U-menu) will be lost during this update. A power failure during a software update might crash the user disk and a full software update would be needed after this. So, be advised to backup your important files before any software updates! Turn off your DESIGNER DIAMOND™. Double click on the downloaded file to start the installation. You may get an Open file – Security Warning. Click Run to continue. The DESIGNER DIAMOND™ software update program will start. Follow the instructions given on screen. When the Update is complete your DESIGNER DIAMOND™ will automatically restart. How to update with USB embroidery stick: (requires version 5683-5413 or later in the machine) Click on the link below to dowload the update file. You need a file compression utility to open the file (WinZip or similar). Click on the .exe file to start the Update Wizard. You may get Security Warnings. Click Run to continue. The DESIGNER DIAMOND™ Update Wizard will start. Follow the instructions on screen and be sure to select "USB embroidery stick" as the update method. When the USB embroidery stick is prepared the Update Wizard will tell you to move it to your DESIGNER DIAMOND™, start the update and follow the instructions on the Interactive Screen.
